Geez, this must be the craziest love i've ever seen :P but, because it's so nonsensical, it makes sense.

I can see why Naota would fall in love with Haruko. She's a taste of something extremely different from what he knows. Naota's been living a rather bland, monotone life in Mabase. Haruko showed him that there is life, that the world can be beatutiful and amazing and exicting, that the world has colour, and flare. And Naota wants more. Wouldn't you?

In Haruko, Naota sees that life is truly something to cherish, that it's good to live. Whereas before, Naota just sat by, and let his life pass him by completely. Haruko's insane and very outgoing nature balacnes Naota's introverted, seemingly excluded personality.

Oddly enough, i really don't think that Naota was "in love" with Haruko; an infatuation, or puppy love at the most. I do think that Naota has feelings for Haruko, but i'm not sure that they're... love. And if they are, it's love, in the lightest sense of the word. I think that Naota's feelings for Haruko are more a good freind type feelings. Or feelings for someone that he knows is going to go away, and he feels sad, or that he will miss Haruko.
